Nature and structure of the quran, Hadith and sharia law
Quran
The Quran was verbally revealed by Mohammed over 22-year period, The Quran reflects the early history of Islam as well as is the central religious text of Islam and is viewed as the last revelation sent be Allah to humanity. Muslims believe that the Quran has all the solutions to problems humanity is faced with, irrespective of the complexity of some problems.
The revelations received during Mohammad’s time at Medina consisted of mainly guidance of growing Islamic community, Some revelations include, information about legal matters, fasting and prayers
The term ‘Quran’ translates to ‘recitation’, which means the action of repeating something out loud, this significance of this is repeated in the Quran
It is believed by Muslims that the Quran is the only book that has been protected by Allah from corruption.
Muslims Regard the Quran to be proof of Mohammed’s prophet hood and is to be the most important miracle received from him.
After Mohammed’s Death, The Quran was collected by fellow companions and then written down on Quranic material what was memorized of the Quran.
The Quran consists of 114 chapters, a chapter are referred as ‘Surah’ , each chapter has been assigned a significant name that is derived from what’s been spoken of in the text. Each surah varies in length.
Each Sura consists of verses, known as ‘aayth’,

Hadith
Hadith is religiously translated to ‘Tradition’, refers to modern ‘Islamic law’, The Hadith includes what the prophet Mohammed said and did during his lifetime. Unlike the Quran which was constructed shortly after the Prophets death, The transformation of the Hadith took place over 100-150 years after Mohammed’s Death
Sharia Law
Sharia Law is often translated as the ‘way’ or ‘guideline’ it is the body of Islamic law. The Sharia Law is the framework of the legal structure is Islamic belief, it deals with both public and Private aspects of life.
The Sharia law is taken from both the Quran as well as the Hadith (Also fatwas, which is the rulings of Islamic scholars). The Sharia law acts as a standard of living that all Muslims should try to achieve
As a legal system, Sharia law covers problems with day-to-day life, which include issues like, Economics, Politics, Banking, Sexual Activity and Social Activates.
The Sharia Law is divided in 3 sections
1. Faith
2. Ethics
3. Acts of Muslims; which is divided into two sections (5 pillars of Islam) and (Human Interaction)
